Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred; English proficiency alone not sufficient.
  • Must obtain the ICC Residential Building Inspector within 1 year.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License required or obtained within 30 days.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections on residential and commercial buildings, mobile homes and signs for code compliance.
  • Review construction documents to verify compliance with City Ordinances and issue permits.
  • Provide information to the public regarding requirements and policies.
  • Coordinate with other agencies and contractors on condemnation and demolition processes.
  • Document inspections and history using required software and equipment.
