Job summary

RXinsider LTD. is seeking an experienced Building Inspector for data center projects in Amarillo, Texas. You will plan, supervise, and conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with building and municipal codes, while coordinating with clients and project teams.

Ideal candidates hold ICC/CBO certification, state plumbing inspector license, and have 2–3 years’ inspector experience. Strong communication and supervisory abilities are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; further training in inspection is a plus.
• Associate degree in engineering/building inspection or related field is a plus.
• ICC/ CBO certification preferred.
• State Plumbing Inspector license preferred.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and inspection methods.
• Good communication and people skills.
• Valid Texas driver's license required.

Responsibilities

Data Center Building Inspection

Operational

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Within a specific data center project, plans, assigns, directs, reviews, and evaluates the work of building inspection needed for the site.
• Maintains open communications to inspectors within project on important Company updates, status, and information and industry codes.
• Performs on-site inspection and evaluation of construction projects.
• Assists and advises clients and inspectors in matters relating to construction and code requirements.
• Independently recognizes, evaluates and properly resolves unique problems or situations requiring the exercise of good judgment.

Job Qualifications And Education

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Any combination of education or experience normally equivalent to;

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent, preferably supplemented by additional training in building inspection, structural engineering, or a related field. An Associate Degree in engineering, architecture, building inspection, or related field, or equivalent ICC certification level is a plus.

Experience: at least 2-3 years experience as a building inspector, time with supervisory experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Abilities, And Skills

• ICC Combination Inspector certification and/or CBO certification preferred.
• Possess and maintain a State Plumbing Inspector license, preferred.
• Strong knowledge of building and related municipal codes, building inspection methods and techniques, construction materials, methods and techniques, principals of supervision, administration and management.
• Thorough knowledge of the industry and established relations with client contracts.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to work well with people.
• Positive attitude towards Company and clients.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships.
• Proficient with computer programs
• Must have a valid Texas driver’s license.

Work Expectation

Essential Functions

• Combination Code Inspections and/or Quality Control inspections as required by the International Codes.
• Prepare written and electronic reports and issue notices of correction
• Explain and interpret code and/or quality control regulations or requirements
• Recognize, evaluate and properly resolve unique problems or situations
• Maintain effective customer service relationship with clients and the public
• Assist the inspection management team with business development
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

• Some office work, mostly field inspections with full exposure to the elements on projects controlled by OSHA.
