Qualifications

• Associate's degree in architecture, engineering, fire science, or building technology.
• Six years of experience in a related construction position involving reading and interpreting building plans.
• Experience in building design or drafting for an architect or engineer may substitute for years of experience.
• Additional years of education may substitute for years of experience.
• Kentucky Certified Building Inspector, Level III preferred upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Directs activities and manages daily operations and programs of the assigned section.
• Manages, reviews, and evaluates the work of subordinate staff.
• Reviews and approves permit applications, construction plans and documents.
• Interprets building codes, ordinances, and zoning regulations with staff and the public.
• Coordinates with internal divisions and external agencies to ensure compliance.
• Represents LFUCG at meetings, conferences, and trainings.
