Job summary

O'Neal Industries, Inc. is seeking a Building and Grounds Technician to maintain and improve the campus facilities in Indianapolis, IN. The role works with the Maintenance department to support plant operations and safety.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience. You will perform basic maintenance, operate tools and equipment, and coordinate with internal teams and contractors. Shift is 1st, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years’ experience in buildings and grounds maintenance.
• Ability to read MSDS and chemical labels.
• Ability to use common tools (hammer, wrench, torches).
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings and grounds (including lawn and snow removal) in top condition to ensure full and productive use of facility.
• Perform simple maintenance duties not requiring practical skill and knowledge of the craft trades.
• Assist Maintenance Technicians with moderately difficult maintenance and repair work.
• Appropriately inspect and operate all equipment and machinery as necessary including forklifts.
• Comply with relevant safety regulations and policies in the execution of all job tasks.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Participate in safety, health, and environmental programs.
• Be available for overtime or call-in as required.
• Work with external contractors to install and repair equipment.
• Communicate verbally and in writing to coordinate with team members and other departments to safely execute maintenance repair work.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to use a variety of tools from hammers, wrenches, to torches and more
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software applications preferred
• Posess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive
• 2 years maintenance experience preferred but notrequired.

Physical Requirements

• A bility to lift 20 lbs. as needed.
• Ability to bend, stand, climb,twistand stoop for extended periods of time.
• Ability to perform sedentaryworkincluding sitting for extended periods of time.
• Ability tooperatestandard office equipment.
• Havegoodvision of 20/30 with corrective lenses.
• Ability tomaintaincoordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision.
• Travel as needed toaccomplishdesired results. Overnight travel may berequiredoccasionally.

• Hazards: Variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to highheator exposure to chemicals.

• Oils: there is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
