Job summary

O'Neal Manufacturing Services in Indianapolis, IN 46236 is seeking a Building and Grounds Technician to maintain buildings and grounds and support maintenance activities. The role supports the maintenance department with safety, equipment inspection, and coordination with contractors.

The position is on 1st shift from 5:00am to 2:00pm. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 2 years of relevant experience, ability to read MSDS and chemical labels, and capable use of common tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years’ experience in buildings and grounds maintenance required.
• Ability to read MSDS and read chemical labels.
• Ability to use a variety of tools from hammers, wrenches, to torches and more.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software applications preferred.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive.
• 2 years maintenance experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings and grounds (including lawn and snow removal) in top condition to ensure full and productive use of facility.
• Perform simple maintenance duties not requiring practical skill and knowledge of the craft trades.
• Assist Maintenance Technicians with moderately difficult maintenance and repair work.
• Appropriately inspect and operate all equipment and machinery as necessary including forklifts.
• Comply with relevant safety regulations and policies in the execution of all job tasks.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Participate in safety, health, and environmental programs.
• Be available for overtime or call-in as required.
• Work with external contractors to install and repair equipment.
• Communicate verbally and in writing to coordinate with team members and other departments to safely execute maintenance repair work.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Building and Grounds Technicianis responsible formaintainingbuildings and grounds to support the safe and efficient use of plant facilities. The Building and Grounds Technician will work with the Maintenance department to support other maintenance activities in the plant.

Shift: 1st shift 5:00am - 2:pm

exposure to changing temperatures, loud noises, vibration from use of equipment and the following:

• Hazards: Variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to highheator exposure to chemicals.
• Atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin – fumes, odors, dust, mist,gasesor poor ventilation.
• Oils: there is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
