Job summary

Harris Teeter in Indian Trail, NC is seeking a Building & Grounds (Sanitation) associate for the 2nd shift. You will maintain a clean, safe warehouse environment, including floors, restrooms, offices, and exterior areas.

The role requires physically handling cleaning equipment and safety-conscious work habits; training on TRICEPS may be provided, with emphasis on proper waste and recycling processes. Strong attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, and reliability are essential as you

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; or 1–3 months related experience or training.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
  • Ability to perform basic math with money, weight, volume and distance.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans warehouse, outside buildings, parking lots and perimeter.
  • Mops, sweeps and scrubs floors and walls; empties trash bins.
  • Cleans offices and restrooms; cleans pick slots and under racking.
  • Operates cleaning equipment safely and follows safety policies.
  • Handles damaged items and recycles plastics and cardboard.
  • Complies with company rules; supports warehouse operations as needed.

BUILDING & GROUNDS (Sanitation) Perishable Warehouse - 2nd shift

Summary: Keeps warehouse clean, free of clutter, spills and debris.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Cleans warehouse and outside buildings, parking lots and the property perimeter
  • Mops, sweeps and scrubs warehouse floors and walls
  • Empties trash cans, and bins
  • Cleans offices and restrooms
  • Cleans pick slots and under racking
  • Works safely with approved chemicals
  • Works safely with sweepers, scrubbers, forklifts, balers, compactors, pressure washers
  • and pallet jacks
  • Properly scans and processes damaged orphan cases and reclaim items
  • Properly processes plastic and cardboard for recycling
  • Follows Company's safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as may be assigned or required.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one to other associates of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of TRICEPS

Certificates and Licenses:

Ability to successfully pass Industrial Equipment Certification Test

Must be at least 18 years of age
