PENN Entertainment is seeking a Building & Grounds Manager to lead the EVS and grounds teams, ensuring exceptional guest and employee environments. This role directs day-to-day operations, maintains cleanliness and safety standards, and drives staff development across the department.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, scheduling, training, and reinforcing a culture of teamwork and accountability to deliver outstanding guest experiences.

Qualifications

• 3 years of supervisory experience in an environmental services environment preferred

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Building & Grounds Manager, you are responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for guests and employees, promoting and retaining a highly skilled workforce. The incumbent is also responsible for directing the day-to-day activities of the Building & Grounds Department on assigned shift.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Responsible for actively building and retaining customer relations and acts as a mentor to employees in order to provide superior customer service.
• Hires, trains, schedules, evaluates, and manages staff to ensure that employees receive adequate guidance, resources, and information to perform work responsibilities and achieve established objectives.
• Establishes and maintains department objectives, standards, procedures, and budget to ensure the proper management of department.
• Trains, motivates and supervises personnel on assigned shift; implements disciplinary procedures.
• Appraises work situations; directs, delegates, schedules and organizes work crews through their leaders to accomplish all assigned job functions.
• Assigns routine and non-routine job functions to departmental employees; performs time and attendance.
• Maintains a good public relations image to PENN Entertainment, Inc.’s departments and patrons.
• Maintains departmental cleanliness standards through inspection process throughout all assigned areas of responsibility by observing and correcting any work-related deficiencies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Environmental Services Management

• Direct and supervise all EVS team members to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently achieved.
• Develop and implement cleaning procedures and schedules for all public areas, back-of-house spaces, offices, and exterior property grounds.
• Conduct routine inspections of facilities and grounds to identify deficiencies and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with company cleanliness standards, safety regulations, and sanitation requirements.
• Manage cleaning supply inventories and equipment maintenance programs.

Building & Grounds Operations

• Oversee the appearance and upkeep of parking lots, sidewalks, roadways, and exterior facilities.
• Coordinate seasonal property preparations, including storm readiness and recovery efforts.
• Monitor pest control, pressure washing, and specialty cleaning services.
• Identify and initiate improvements that enhance curb appeal and overall property appearance.

Leadership & Team Development

• Recruit, train, coach, and develop EVS and grounds personnel.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
• Schedule staff appropriately to meet operational needs while controlling labor expenses.
• Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and guest service.
• Lead departmental meetings and safety briefings.

Requirements

WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Position is at times subject to varying levels of crowds, noise and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume.
• At times this position works with various types of chemicals; proper safety precautions are taken.
• This position occasionally works outdoors and is subject to all weather conditions; proper clothing is provided.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of employees.
• Ability to effectively and efficiently move around work area.
• Ability to observe and direct actions of subordinates.
• Ability to use a computer keyboard, calculator and typewriter.
• Ability to operate all Building & Grounds cleaning equipment.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge and understanding of cleaning tools, chemicals and procedures.
• Working knowledge of the purchasing system and time and attendance system.
• 3 years of supervisory experience in an environmental services environment preferred
