Job summary

The City of Williamsburg, VA is seeking a Building Facilities Technician to perform skilled maintenance on its public buildings and parking garages, including electrical, lighting, plumbing and HVAC systems.

Education and experience required include a High School Diploma or GED and at least three years in construction, building maintenance, or related repair work, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Background check and drug screen required.

Job Opportunities

The City of Williamsburg is seeking applicants to fill the Buidling Facilities Technician position. This position is responsible for performing skilled work in the maintenance of the City’s public buildings and parking garages, including electrical, street and park lighting, plumbing, and HVAC.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent; and


• Three (3) years of experience in construction, building maintenance, and/or general repair work; or


• An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Qualifications:

• Acceptable criminal background, DMV check and drug screen results

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in HVAC, electrical or related


• Knowledgeable of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems, with demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues. Strong technical knowledge of system maintenance practices and procedures is highly desirable
