Job summary

Construction Systems Group seeks an experienced Project Engineer for building envelope projects in the DMV area. You will lead investigations, assess roofing and waterproofing needs, and coordinate between clients, contractors, and our engineering team.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, preparing reports, and supporting budgeting and scheduling. Travel to job sites will be required; strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering or Architecture.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA).
• 3+ years of building envelope experience (roofing or waterproofing).
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
• Experience with technical writing, reports, and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Willingness to perform fieldwork on construction sites and travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform building envelope investigations and recommend roofing and waterproofing repairs.
• Review roofing and waterproofing details, drawings, and specifications.
• Evaluate contractor submittals and RFIs and provide technical feedback.
• Conduct field inspections and construction observations to verify quality and compliance.
• Collect field data and prepare technical reports and documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients, contractors, and project teams.
• Interpret architectural drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Assist with project budgeting, cost estimates, and financial tracking.
• Provide responsive, high-quality client service and communication.
