Job summary

Walker Consultants seeks an experienced building enclosure consultant to serve local and national clients. You will lead investigations, design, and construction administration for envelopes, waterproofing, and roofing, acting as the primary client contact on projects.

With 4+ years in the field, you will supervise staff, support business development, and travel as needed. The role emphasizes collaboration with architects, contractors, and clients to deliver durable, high-performance building

Qualifications

• 4+ years of building envelope and waterproofing experience.
• Knowledge of exterior systems and materials (facades, roofing, waterproofing, windows).
• Experience with both new construction and the evaluation of existing structures.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., including hoses and testing equipment.
• Ability to supervise professional staff and outside consultants.
• Ability to manage client relationships and maintain communication after project completion.
• Collaborative, client-focused mindset with interest in business development.
• Ability to compile strong RFQ/RFP responses.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert building enclosure consulting on a range of projects.
• Act as primary client contact on projects involving new construction and existing structures.
• Design, evaluate, and consult on below-grade waterproofing, plazas and podiums, exterior walls, fenestration, and roofing.
• Perform investigations, condition assessments, design, peer review, bid phase services, construction administration, testing.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and clients on investigations, designs, and progress reviews.
• Support with peer and office reviews and progress reviews during reports and construction documents.
• Participate in field investigations and testing, including handling hoses and equipment.
• Monitor budgets and schedules and address discrepancies.
• Assist with client relationships and business development, including RFQ/RFP responses.
