Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site mid-to-senior level Building Envelope Consultant role based in Sandy Springs, GA. The Building Envelope Consultant will assess building envelope performance, including roofs, façades, windows, and waterproofing systems, through on-site inspections, field testing, and condition surveys. Responsibilities include reviewing construction documents and specifications, preparing technical reports, drawings, and repair recommendations, and assisting with design details for new and existing building envelopes. The role involves coordinating with clients, design teams, and contractors to support project planning, bid processes, submittal reviews, and construction administration. The consultant will also monitor construction progress, observe installations for compliance with project requirements, document findings, and participate in forensic investigations of water intrusion and related issues.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, with a solid understanding of building envelope systems (roofing, cladding, glazing, waterproofing) and construction technology.
• Strong inspection skills, including field investigations, diagnostic testing, documentation of conditions, and preparation of clear, objective findings.
• Project planning abilities, including scope development, scheduling, coordination with multiple stakeholders, and management of multiple projects concurrently.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
• Familiarity with building codes, standards, and industry best practices related to exterior envelope design and performance.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting, client interaction, and coordination with design and construction teams.
• Ability to perform field work, including climbing ladders, accessing rooftops, working at heights with proper safety measures, and traveling to job sites as needed.
• Relevant professional certifications or progress toward licensure (e.g., PE, RA, RRC, RRO, BECxP) are preferred but not required.
