Job description

Position: Maintenance Engineer

**Location:** Los Angeles Airport Marriott, 5855 West Century Boulevard, Los Angeles, California, 90045

**Pay:** $39.83/hour

**Schedule:** Full Time

**Position Type:** Non-Management

Position Summary

Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues with minimal supervision. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines, and carry equipment such as tools and radios. Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.

Display advanced ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics related to plumbing and HVAC systems. Demonstrate above-average engineering operations skills and strong mechanical ability. Proficiency in at least three categories such as air conditioning, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, or general building management. Ensure safe use of hand and power tools and perform complex repairs on physical property, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment, including HVAC and pool heaters, adhering to all safety and code standards.

Troubleshoot and repair various equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, and devices. Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before maintenance. Display advanced knowledge of engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance and energy management. Perform advanced troubleshooting of hotel MEP systems and train or mentor other engineers as needed. Fulfill Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds.

Responsibilities
  • Follow safety policies and report hazards or accidents.
  • Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality.
  • Assist guests and support team goals.
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and working on stairs or ladders.
  • Use computers to locate and enter work-related information.
Qualifications

Preferred: High school diploma or G.E.D., vocational training, extensive maintenance experience, at least 2 years in hotel engineering, valid driver’s license.

Required: Universal CFC Certification, valid state and federal certifications/licenses.
