Job summary

Action Property Management is seeking a Building Engineer II to manage maintenance for a luxury association in San Diego. You will develop maintenance strategies and ensure building systems run safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of onsite high-rise or mid-rise building engineering experience, familiarity with building codes, and HVAC/EPA certifications. California driver's license and insurance are required. This role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with standard hours.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of on-site high-rise or mid-rise building engineer experience.
• Familiarity with the Uniform Commercial Building Code; HOA experience is a plus.
• HVAC Certification, EPA/608 License; Fire Pump/Fire Life Safety Director Certificates preferred.
• Valid California Driver's License and Auto Insurance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, correct deficiencies, and repair common areas of the Association.
• Oversee daily building operations, ensure compliance with HOA policies and codes.
• Monitor performance of building systems (HVAC, electrical, fire life safety, security, water circulation).
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for maintenance and repairs.
• Plan and implement a preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime.

Action Property Management, the leader in community management, is seeking a full-time Building Engineer IIto join our team at our luxury association,Savina,located inSan Diego.

The Building Engineer II is responsible for overseeing all aspects of building maintenance and repairs at the assigned property. This role involves developing maintenance strategies and ensuring the building's systems and equipment operate efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and excellent leadership skills.

Compensation: $50.00 - $55.00 Per Hour

Schedule: Monday- Friday; 7:00 AM- 4:00 PM

What You’ll Do (Job Duties)

• Responsible for maintaining, correcting deficiencies, and/or making repairs to all common areas within the Association
• Oversee all facets of the daily operations of the building, ensuring compliance with HOA policies and regulations as required by code and regulatory enforcement agencies.
• Monitor and maintain optimum performance of all building systems to include mechanical, electrical/electronic, fire life safety, smoke control, security, HVAC, and water circulation system.
• Coordinate and interact with external contractors and vendors to ensure timely maintenance and repairs, as well as adherence to quality standards.
• Plan and implement a preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and prolong the lifespan of building systems.
• Collaborate with General Manager on modifications and improvements to building systems, including control software, to enhance efficiency and functionality.

Who You Are (Skills/Experience)

• Minimum of 3 years of onsite high rise or mid-rise building engineer experience, preferably in property management, hospitality, or commercial property management.
• Familiarity with the Uniform Commercial Building Code; HOA experience is a plus.

• Hands-on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and painting experience.
• Experience in fire system management.
