Job Summary

The Building Maintenance II is responsible for the upkeep of various systems and components which include general building operations such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting, but also many needs specific to all aspects of the hotel (guest rooms, public areas, back of the house), while providing a memorable guest experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.

• Read and comprehend test equipment, measuring devices, and safety manuals; read and understand technical parts breakdown.

• Perform maintenance activities in guest rooms such as unclogging toilets and drains, repairing various types of hardware, and electrical equipment including lamps, AC/HVAC ducts.

• Help maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies as needed, and perform general housekeeping duties.

• Perform maintenance activities in all guest rooms, common areas, and BOH (back of the house) such as unclogging toilets and drains, program televisions, repairing various types of hardware, plumbing and electrical equipment (AC/HVAC ducts), checking parking lots, sidewalks and walkways, and cosmetic items.

• Monitor fire alarm/Life Safety System as necessary; be fully informed of the system operation; handle emergencies involving the systems.

Requirements:

Essential Skills, Experience, and Education include:

• Less than high school education; or 2 - 3 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Prior hotel or commercial property experience is .

• High-volume/fast-paced environment experience .

• Proficient English- verbal and written.

• Must have flexible work availability- all shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• HVAC is a plus.

• Carpentry is a plus.

• Electrical is a plus.

• Plumbing a plus.

Physical Requirements include:

• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Hours: 3:00pm - 11:30pm
