Job summary

Leo Facilities Maintenance is seeking a Building Engineer for a VA Clinic in San Jose, CA. The role focuses on HVAC and BAS systems maintenance, with responsibilities for safety, preventive maintenance, and coordination with vendors.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience in commercial building operations, strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, and the ability to manage multiple projects independently. On-site work with a first shift schedule is expected.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and make independent decisions.
• Basic computer skills and use of smartphones for communication and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular assessments of building systems.
• Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance; respond to service requests for interior and exterior building equipment.
• Manage work order requests related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems.
• Proactively maintain an ongoing task list for the property management team.
• Liaise with vendors, supervise their entry, and document completed work.
