Avison Young is a global commercial real estate brokerage and advisory firm seeking a Building Engineer in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on repair, maintenance, and installation of mechanical equipment and building systems to ensure continuous operations.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, safety compliance, reading blueprints, and responding to work orders. A valid driver’s license and an AA degree or equivalent are required; travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic knowledge of computer.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures or governmental regulations.
• Write reports and business correspondence.
• Proficient in the English language.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, maintains, and installs machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous operations.
• Performs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
• Assists in ongoing preventive maintenance program in conjunction with other engineering and maintenance staff.
• Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
• Assists with the identification of safety procedures, equipment and protective clothing requirements.
• Responds to work orders as directed by management.
• Some travel may be required.
