Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; 4–5 years in facilities maintenance or related work.
  • Swing shift and weekend availability required.
  • EPA/CFC certification preferred; licenses as required by local/state jurisdictions.
  • Must meet physical requirements: lift 50+ lbs., stand, climb stairs/ladders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance/repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, safety standards, and energy-efficiency guidelines.
  • Support preventive maintenance programs and emergency repairs as needed.
  • Review inspections of building systems (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) for design adequacy.
  • Utilize CMMS for work orders and maintain organized documentation.
  • Mentor others and contribute to CBRE RISE values in daily operations.

About the Role:

As a CBRE Building Engineer

You will be involved in maintaining and repairing building systems-including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and HVAC-while ensuring compliance with safety codes and energy efficiency standards. This role is a swing shift that will support preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and inspections.

Schedule:

Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday, 2pm-10:30am

What You'll Do:
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to the mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems. Keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
  • Align with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Maintain an energy management program. Ensure all systems operate in the most efficient manner.
  • Assist with the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life. Perform emergency repairs as needed.
  • Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Review inspection to building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieve environmental conditions prescribed by client.
  • Apply advanced knowledge to tackle sophisticated problems, mentor others across fields, and lead by example in alignment with CBRE RISE values to foster collaboration and consensus.
What You'll Need:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma or equivalent experience with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
  • Ability to work a swing shift and on the weekends.
  • Universal EPA/ CFC certification is preferred. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions. Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and prior CMMS experience preferred
  • Organizational skills with an inquisitive attitude.
  • Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly sophisticated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
