Job description

ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for a Building Engineer.

The Building Engineer supports the designated leadership with the daily operations of all building systems. This includes hard surface maintenance and repair, basic carpentry and metal work, operating, maintaining, and repairing all facility system equipment associated with HVAC operations and mechanical and electrical systems. The Building Engineer will also respond to customer requests, submit and close work orders as necessary, and perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

• Read manuals to understand equipment and controls.
• Disassemble machinery and equipment for maintenance or repair.
• Perform tests and operate machinery to ensure proper functioning.
• Adjust and calibrate equipment and machinery to optimal specifications.
• Display mechanical understanding and provide root cause analysis.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose building systems.
• Maintain and repair fire and life safety systems.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in maintenance, preferably in an industrial or commercial environment.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Trade or Vocational Certification preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate root cause analysis skills.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
