Job summary

Newmark Group is seeking a facilities/maintenance engineer to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on building systems including mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing. You will handle multiple projects, maintain logs, and ensure safety compliance within a professional environment.

Primary duties include responding to tenant requests, coordinating outside contractors, and maintaining accurate maintenance records while following site procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Minimum of 3 years' building operations/engineering experience.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions.
• Proficient computer and e-mail skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs to building mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Conduct periodic maintenance, lubrication, cleaning, parts replacement, and testing of equipment.
• Respond to tenant requests in safety, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and environmental areas.
• Prepare and maintain maintenance logs and records.
• Coordinate contractor and management approvals for work done by outside contractors.
• Ensure safety compliance and follow site operating procedures.

EssentialJobDuties:

• Responsibleforallpreventativemaintenance,necessarymaintenance tasks and repairstothebuildings mechanical,electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems. Must be familiar with the location and have working knowledge of all building mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing,lifesafety,fireprotectionandsecuritysystems to ensure properoperationsandbeabletoact upon any conditions that are out of the ordinary.
• Conduct periodic general preventative maintenance on the mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. This involves normal lubrication, adjustment, cleaning, replacement of consumableparts(suchasfilters,indicator lights,etc.), and periodic testing of the equipment. These systems include but are not limited to; air handling units (including both rooftop and built-up units), re-circulating air systems, water pumping systems, cooling plant and all plumbing system components. Also, conduct general building maintenance, as needed.
• Beresponsivetotenantrequests intheareasofsafety, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and environmental needs through both personal contact, and work order systems, all while maintaining a clean work environment.
• Prepareandmaintainmaintenancelogsandrecords.
• Familiaritywithpreventativemaintenanceandworkordersoftware systems.
• Maintain strict compliance with all Federal, State, and Local codes, regulations and standards.
• Understand and follow all safety guidelines including successful completion of monthly safety training.
• Coordinatecontractor,tenantandmanagementapprovalsforworkordersthatrequiretheuseofanoutside contractor. Maintain log of work order details.
• Performallassignedworktoensurethesafetyofthebuilding’stenantsandthecontinuousoperation ofthesite.
• Befamiliarwithandconform to all written operating procedures associated with the site.
• Assist with office service projects.
• Mayperform otherdutiesasassigned.

Skills, Education and Experience:

• HighSchoolDiploma.
• Minimumof3yearsprevious buildingoperationsengineeringexperience.
• Abilitytohandlemultipleprojects andmakedecisions.
• Proficientcomputerande-mailskills.
