Job summary

Studio | LB, a Lerch Bates company, is seeking a Building Enclosure Designer to master how buildings are put together, focusing on complex façades and exterior systems that perform beautifully. The role involves applying building science to new and historic projects, in a collaborative setting with leadership.

You will contribute to technical details, 3D models, and specifications while growing within a 100% employee-owned environment. This position is with Studio | LB, part of Lerch Bates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in architectural drafting and enclosure detailing.
• Foundational understanding of building enclosure systems and building science principles.
• Ability to read, interpret, and develop architectural drawings, wall sections, details, elevations, plans, and specifications.
• Proficiency with Revit, Rhino, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed work products using Revit, Bluebeam, and Rhino alongside Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Develop enclosure system assemblies across façade, glazing, curtain wall, roofing, waterproofing, and air/vapor barrier assemblies.
• Interpret architectural and structural drawings to support coordinated, constructable design solutions.
• Apply building science principles to support system performance and code compliance.
• Assist with code research, system analysis, and evaluation of enclosure design options and material compatibility.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and project teams for coordinated execution.
• Support construction administration, field observations, and delivery of project graphics and deliverables.
