Purpose:

This intermittent position is responsible for cleaning the Education in the Unorganized Territory school on a daily basis to provide a safe and healthy environment for staff and students attending the school.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of standards for cleanliness of grounds, buildings, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of school building codes and laws.
  • Knowledge of precautions necessary to safeguard personnel, property, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and minor repair of plumbing, heating, and electrical systems and fixtures.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in janitorial work.
  • Ability to climb to the height of school roof/ceiling.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment used in high traffic facilities.
  • Ability to maintain standards for cleaning buildings and grounds.
  • Ability to communicate positively with staff and pupils.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 70 pounds independently.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform manual tasks related to care, cleaning, and maintenance of buildings and equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience and training demonstrating basic knowledge of building and grounds maintenance and repair.
