Job summary

Georgia Tech is seeking a Facilities Operations professional to manage a complex of buildings. You will oversee shipping/receiving, security, and equipment maintenance, coordinate events, and serve as the main liaison for unit management.

Strong collaboration and records management are essential. The role requires a high school diploma and 5–8 years of related experience; familiarity with Workday and Excel is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as point of contact for unit management housed within facilities.
  • Manage work order system and related records for building maintenance, equipment and security.
  • Utilize event management system to plan and approve events and provide tours to potential customers.

Job Summary

Facilitate building services within an assigned complex of facilities, usually encompassing multiple building locations. Services provided include management of shipping/receiving services, building safety and security, equipment maintenance, space allocation and related records maintenance. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: building occupants and unit management within building(s), visitors, inspectors, maintenance personnel and vendors/contractors. This position typically will advise and counsel: building occupants and unit management. This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities
  • Job Duty 1 - Oversee/coordinate facilities shipping and receiving processes which may include mail distribution.
  • Job Duty 2 - Monitor and maintain building security and safe practices.
  • Job Duty 3 - Coordinate/oversee equipment maintenance within assigned facilities; coordinate schedule and provide required access as needed.
  • Job Duty 4 - Serve as point of contact for unit management housed within assigned facilities.
  • Job Duty 5 - Manage work order system and other records related to building maintenance, equipment and security.
  • Job Duty 6 - Event Coordination
    Utilize the existing event management system to plan and approve events.
    Provide tours to potential customers.
    Update and communicate event policies and procedures.
    Manage event setup and breakdown, which involves interacting with the Georgia Tech event coordinators, AV team, building support team, student assistants, and vendors.
    Maintain event records, including minor accounting duties (after-hour event invoicing).
  • Job Duty 7 - Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma

Required Experience
Five to eight years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Workday.
  • Experience submitting purchase orders, ordering office supplies and small equipment, and reconciling building expense accounts.
  • Experience managing budgets using Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires advanced working knowledge of building operations and general maintenance requirements. Skills in customer service, contractor relations, building security and safety, records maintenance is required as is the use of office related computer applications.
