Job summary

Mantis Innovation is seeking a Building Controls Technician II/III to install, program, commission, and service BMS and EPMS in mission-critical data center environments. You will own projects from startup through commissioning, coordinating with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure reliable system performance.

Ideal candidates have Niagara or BMS experience, knowledge of BACnet/Modbus protocols, and CAD/Microsoft Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) in data center or mission-critical environments.
• Experience commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting networked control systems.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems commonly found in data center environments.
• Ability to read and interpret: network topologies, electrical diagrams, device wiring, control drawings.
• Familiarity with open protocols such as BACnet IP, BACnet MSTP, Modbus TCP/RTU.
• Knowledge of low-voltage wiring and terminations (RS-232, RS-485, CAT5/CAT6).
• Understanding of electrical code requirements and controls for 120V/240V/480V.
• Proficiency with CAD software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio).

Responsibilities

• Install, program, commission, and troubleshoot BMS and controls systems.
• Service existing building control systems.
• Perform startup and commissioning of complete building automation systems.
• Install building control components including controllers, panels, conduit, sensors, and related hardware.
• Build and assemble low-voltage control panels.
• Perform point-to-point verification and checkout activities.
• Perform software and hardware calibration required for proper system operation.
• Execute low-voltage cable installation and termination activities as needed.
• Support project commissioning activities, including participation in daily meetings and documentation of results.
• Work closely with installation subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on schedule and in compliance with contract requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards.
• Partner with project teams and customers to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.
• Own assigned work from initiation through completion while proactively communicating progress, risks, and issues.
