The City of Seguin is seeking a Building Inspector to review plans, inspect electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, and enforce city codes during all construction phases. The role ensures compliance with ADA, safety standards, and applicable regulations while providing clear defect reports and guidance to permit holders.

Ideal candidates possess strong knowledge of building trades, reading blueprints, and the ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.

Qualificações

• Sufficient technical knowledge to conduct inspections of building construction, plumbing, electrical systems, framing, foundation, and heating and air conditioning systems, including any necessary licenses or certificates.
• Skill in all aspects of the building trades.
• Demonstrated mental ability to tolerate working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Physical ability to bend, stoop, climb, and crawl; lift and maneuver up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to read detailed plans and blueprints, detect safety hazards, and maintain certifications and a valid Texas driver’s license.

Responsabilidades

• Review and inspects plans, drawings, and electrical installations to ensure compliance with codes.
• Prepare inspection and defect reports as necessary.
• Review and inspects plumbing and mechanical installations during construction stages for code compliance.
• Inspect gas pipes and fittings for leaks and proper pressure.
• Inspect building construction procedures, including evaluating slab adequacy.
• Observe all safety rules and procedures.
