You will work under the Director of Municipal Services, collaborate with other inspectors, and may respond to emergencies while ensuring safety and adherence to zoning bylaws.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent; five+ years in building construction or design.
• Massachusetts license: Local Building Inspector and related licenses preferred.
• Strong knowledge of state and local codes; ability to interpret blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Issue permits and conduct inspections for buildings and food/beverage facilities as required.
• Advise other inspectors on code issues to ensure compliance with laws and bylaws.
• Review plans for compliance with state building code and local zoning.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain records; attend public meetings as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and disasters; coordinate with Fire Chief as needed.
