Job summary

Gilmer County Government is seeking a Housekeeper to perform general housekeeping, custodial tasks, and light maintenance in county buildings, grounds, and surrounding areas. You will follow established schedules, ensure cleanliness, and assist with basic repairs when needed.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least six months of cleaning experience, plus a valid Georgia driver’s license with a clean MVR. Some weekend work or on-call responses may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months cleaning/building maintenance experience preferred.
• Must possess valid Georgia driver's license with a clean MVR.
• ADA: able to perform essential functions with/without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, strip, scrub, wax, and vacuum floors per schedule.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, fixtures, and water fountains; replenish supplies.
• Clean windows, walls, light fixtures, dust surfaces; manage trash and recycling.
• Monitor supplies and report equipment or safety issues; assist as needed.
