Job summary

Coventry Public Schools of RI Western Coventry School in Coventry, Rhode Island is seeking a Building-Based Substitute per diem to cover classrooms when teachers are absent. You will follow lesson plans, support routines, manage behavior, and help maintain a productive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Certified teacher preferred, but not required.
• Experience working with school-aged children or in a classroom setting is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Must be an employee in good standing including attendance, professionalism and evaluation.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all state and federal background checks.
• Compliance with Rhode Island Department of Education requirements.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
• At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Following lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher.
• Managing student behavior and supporting daily classroom routines.
• Taking attendance and communicating with school staff as needed.
• Working across different grade levels or subjects depending on staffing needs.
