Primary Purpose
Monitor the district’s BAS systems and have work orders created for issues found, dispatch appropriate technicians to problem areas and make adjustments to the BAS systems to maintain comfort and energy efficiency.
Qualifications/Skills
- Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years’ experience in building automated systems.
- Valid Texas driver license.
- Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Have the ability to translate and communicate technical information in a simple, tangible manner.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Be able to handle multiple tasks and projects in different subject areas.
- Be proficient with a MS Windows based computer including MS Office Suite.
- Be able to work independently, as well as with cross-functional teams.
- Be able to organize and schedule work effectively.
- Knowledge of Building Automation software.
- Basic HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Electronics knowledge.
- Ability to follow, read, and write specifications schematics, and building plans.
- Must be able handle repetitive task.
- Experience:
- Minimum two (2) years experience in one or more related fields Technology, Building Automation Systems, HVAC, Electrical.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Johnson Controls Metasys and Automated Logic WebCTRL.
- Knowledge of environmental benefits of energy conservation.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- District Support:
- Maintain functionality of district building automation systems.
- Maintain building environments to an acceptable level.
- Identify building automation systems problems and submit work orders.
- Address customer service phone calls from all SBISD levels.
- Dispatch HVAC and BAS technicians to emergency calls.
- Other:
- Ability to work overtime.
- Flexible work schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions
- Mental Demands:
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Work with frequent interruptions.
- On-call for afterhours, weekend and holidays.
- This position requires regular in-person interaction with the public.
- Physical Demands:
- Repetitive hand motions.
- Prolonged use of the computer.
- Environmental Factors:
- Condition consist of and not limited to sitting long hours, extended computer use, extreme heat, freezing conditions, tight attic spaces, multiple roof heights and constant lifting of 50lbs.
