Job summary

Iowa State University is seeking a Building Systems Specialist II to manage and optimize campus building automation systems. You will program, commission, test, and troubleshoot to ensure safe, reliable, and energy-efficient facilities across the campus.

The role emphasizes coordination with operations, contractors, and campus customers, along with adherence to safety regulations and ongoing performance improvements. This is a full-time, on-site position in Ames, IA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination totaling 6 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of building automation systems and control programming.
• Experience with commissioning, testing, and system optimization.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and tests building systems.
• Writes and tests program modifications, creates templates and procedures, and develops KPIs.
• Implements measures to improve the efficiency of building systems and meet performance targets.
• Documents commissioning results including system architecture and operation sequences.
