Siemens Smart Infrastructure in the Dallas area (Plano, TX) offers a Building Automation Solutions Sales Internship for Summer 2027. This 10-week program is for undergraduates who are rising juniors or seniors and require 40 hours per week.

Start dates are May 17, May 24, June 7 or June 14, 2027, with on-site work at the local branch. Interns will rotate through departments, assist with lead generation, prepare presentations, and shadow sales calls to learn techniques.

Qualifications

  • Majors include Mechanical Eng, Electrical Eng, Industrial Eng, Energy/Sustainability, Built Environment, Construction Management or Business Admin.

  • Availability: 40 hours per week for the 10-week program.

Responsibilities

What is Building Automation?

Siemens Building Automation Systems is a buildingmanagement system (BMS) that automatically manages and controls all systemswithin a building. These systems include lighting, heating, cooling,ventilation, fire detection and notification, CCTV, door and window controls,water and waste management. It consists of sensors, controllers, software andcommunication devices. Siemens offers building automation systems for allbuilding types and sizes, and for every use. The system is designed to manage awide range of building systems, such as HVAC, lighting, security, fire safety,and other critical building functions.

What is Building Automation Solutions Sales?

The Building Automation Solutions Sales Team iscommitted to supporting our new construction customers andwill achieve booking and profit goals by developing and implementing plans togrow, develop, and manage contractor, consultant, developer, andend-user relationships; capitalize on sales opportunities within theterritory; and effectively execute sophisticated deals independently within ourestablished guidelines.OurSales Executives are ambassadors of quality Siemens technology, products andservices.

What will I do as a Building Automation Solutions SalesIntern?

  • Workalongside Sales Managers and Sales Executives within the local branchoffice.
  • Assistthe sales team with lead generation, prospecting, and account outreach.
  • Supportthe preparation of sales presentations, proposals, and reports.
  • Helpmanage CRM data by tracking leads and maintaining data accuracy.
  • Shadowsales calls and meetings to learn effective sales techniques.
  • Collaboratewith cross-functional teams (operations, other business units,departments, etc.) to support customer engagement
  • Analyzesales performance data and provide insights into driving growth.
  • Participatein team meetings and contribute creative ideas for improving salesprocesses.
  • Participatein sales related activities (learning how to prospect, go-to-market, buildB2B relationships, on-the-job training and shadowing, etc.)
  • Rotate through our core businesssegments, which include Building Automation, Fire/Life Safety, Security andEnergy/Sustainability Systems.

What will my responsibilities be as a BuildingAutomation Solutions Sales Intern?

  • PositionSiemens as an industry leader among service providers, leveraging Siemensworld-class digital service delivery as a key differentiator.
  • Collaboratewith operations and internal teams to deliver excellent customeroutcomes.
  • Helpprospect for new customers and engage with existing customers on newofferings.
  • Visitcustomer sites with both Solutions and Services Sales Teams.
  • Developvalue-based proposals, estimates, specifications, and presentations.
  • Workwith operations, finance, legal and other inside and outside resources toobtain the sale.
  • Attendjob take-offs and turnover meetings.
  • Activelyparticipate in sales department meetings, workshops, and seminars to stayknowledgeable on current market, business, and product trends.

The goal of this internship program is to develop futuretalent for the Siemens organization and help you identify where you may beinterested in pursuing a career at Siemens post-graduation.

  • Education: Mustbe current enrollment as an undergraduate at an accredited 4-year U.S.college or university.
  • Majors: Pursinga degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IndustrialEngineering, Energy/Sustainability, Built Environment, ConstructionManagement or Business Administration, Sales/Marketing with a strongtechnical engineering aptitude.
  • Preferred: Participationin a school sponsored sales engineering club/organization, pursuing aprofessional sales certificate or similar.
  • EarliestGraduation Date: December 2027
  • Availability: Abilityto work 40-hours per week for the 10-week program (May - July or June -August).
  • Relocation: Norelocation assistance or housing stipend is provided. Must bewilling and able to work at the branch office location and surroundinglocal area.
  • WorkAuthorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the UnitedStates on a continual and permanent basis without company or schoolsponsorship. This program does not support students on a Visa suchas F1, J1, M1 and H1B as well as OPT/CPT.

Benefits:

The hourly pay range for this position is $24 -$28 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year. Theactual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidateexperience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographiclocation. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible tocontribute into our 401K program.
