Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Service Specialist in Norfolk, VA to support building automation systems for hospitals, universities, and industrial facilities. You will execute service operations, respond to on-site service calls, and maintain documentation to help customers save energy and money.

You will collaborate with Service Sales, Client Service Managers, Service Coordinators and the regional Digital Service Center while following safety guidelines and completing required training.

Qualifications

  • Electro-mechanical experience either through previous experience or education.
  • Ability to work in a variety of circumstances including ladders, scaffolds, and high lift equipment.
  • Must be willing and able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must be 18+ with a valid driver's license and eligible for Siemens fleet vehicle program.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Execute digitalization and standard service operations strategies.
  • Work with Service Sales, Client Service Managers, Service Coordinators, and regional Americas Digital Service Center personnel.
  • Follow safety requirements as outlined by Siemens and customers.
  • Complete training as outlined in the training path.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and standards and maintain tools and test equipment.
  • Respond to service calls (emergency and on-site) and perform repairs on all automation system types.
  • Complete service ticket documentation and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of services performed and generate reports.
  • Perform system checkout and startup on projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Rotational On-Call and/or Minimal Overnight Travel; extended hours may be required.

Our Service Specialists conduct service agreement tasks, scheduled maintenance assignments and project support to ensure the building automation systems inside buildings such as hospitals, universities, and industrial facilities are properly maintained and operating correctly . Our S ervice Specialists are the face of Siemens, and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help them save energy and money, as well as create a more sustainable future for our environment.

As a Service Specialist, you will:

  • Execute digitalization and standard service operations strategies
  • Work with multiple internal service team members including Service Sales, Client Service Managers, Service Coordinators, andRegion AmericasDigital Service Center personnel
  • Follow safety requirements as outlined by Siemens and customers
  • Successfully complete assigned training as outlined in the training path
  • Follow mandatory policies, procedures, and standardsandmaintainstools and test equipment
  • Respond to service calls (emergency and on-site) as assigned. Perform\repairs as directed on all automation system types
  • Be responsible forcompleting service ticket documentation per the policyand followpreventive maintenance schedules
  • Maintain complete andaccuratedocumentation of services performed and generate reports within Siemens tools
  • Perform system checkout and startup on projectsand other duties as assigned
  • Rotational On-Call and/or Minimal Overnight Travel - Compressed schedule performance can be a factor and will require extended hours to meet commitments
  • Work isgenerally performedat customer locations in a local area and mayincludetime spent on construction site, which may have amoderate noise level and regular distractions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Electro-mechanicalexperience(either throughpreviousexperience or education) and user PC/software skill
  • Abilityand willingnessto work in a variety of circumstances, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, andhigh liftequipment;working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in various conditions
  • Must bewilling andable to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet as well as able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
  • Experience withMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Must be 18 years of age andpossessa valid driver\'s license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements toparticipatein Siemens\' fleet vehicle program
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
