Job Description
As a Building Automation Project Sales Representative at Harris, you will develop revenue from sales activities to new and existing clients by creating and selling solutions for building automation projects in assigned markets. You will also manage existing customer relationships and ensure the company’s services meet client expectations.
Pay Range: $67,524.87 - $101,287.31. The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Responsibilities
- Develop revenue from sales activities to new and existing clients by creating solutions for building automation projects in assigned markets.
- Manage existing customer relationships and maintain an active backlog of quotes to consistently meet booking goals.
- Use Harris CRM to maintain an up-to-date and accurate sales pipeline.
- Cross‑sell and upsell controls, service, and mechanical project work within the region to leverage the full range of capabilities.
- Inspect and interpret drawings, equipment, and job conditions to assess system status and determine repairs, modifications, replacements, or upgrades.
- Translate technical and financial needs into customized solutions that enhance facility performance while reducing operating, maintenance, and repair costs.
- Develop retrofit building automation solutions by reviewing specifications and drawings to determine scope and requirements.
- Accurately estimate sizes, distances, and quantities to determine time, costs, resources, subcontractors, and materials needed for each project.
- Use standard operating practices to generate project pricing at the company‑authorized margins.
- Create proposals using Harris SOPs and offer proposals that align with customer goals and company policies.
- Conduct business in alignment with Harris values, maintaining timely and professional communication with assigned accounts, prospects, and opportunities.
- Promptly address customer concerns to ensure resolution of problems and maintain long‑term positive relationships.
- Build rapport and productive working relationships with customers, vendors, and Harris team members, effectively representing the company’s interests in all activities.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in construction sciences, HVAC, or a related field, or equivalent journeyman experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven track record identifying retrofit building automation opportunities, including modernizing, upgrading, or replacing systems.
- 4+ years of knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and electrical components.
- 2+ years of experience with customer relationship development and maintenance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
- Ability to prepare financial justification for solutions, including understanding of energy savings.
