Job summary

Vantage Consulting seeks an experienced Controls Systems Programmer to support the design, development, and commissioning of building automation and controls systems. This role involves programming, system integration, troubleshooting, and collaborating with project teams to deliver successful automation solutions.

The position is primarily office and field based, with travel to project sites as required. Responsibilities include creating operator interfaces, configuring third‑party equipment

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, computer science, electronics, or another relevant technical discipline is preferred. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
  • At least five years of experience programming or commissioning building automation or control systems.
  • Previous experience supporting construction or commissioning teams is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems, building controls hardware, and control panel operation.
  • Experience with BACnet MS/TP, BACnet/IP, Modbus RTU, and Modbus TCP/IP communications.
  • Understanding of electrical control circuits, relay operation, and control logic.
  • Basic knowledge of IP networking concepts, including routers, DHCP, DNS, and subnetting.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with the confidence to solve technical problems independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced project environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership, professionalism, and commitment to delivering high‑quality work.
