Overview

Building Automation (BAS) Controls Programmer to join a client team. Role involves programming, configuring, and commissioning Building Automation Systems (BAS) to deliver energy-efficient and reliable building performance across Maine and New Hampshire.

Locations: Portland, ME / Dover, NH / Vermont, NH

Pay Rate: Up to $40 per hour

Base pay range: $30.00/hr - $40.00/hr

Employer: Edison Smart supporting a client in the search for an experienced BAS Controls Programmer.

This role will involve programming, configuring, and commissioning Building Automation Systems (BAS) to deliver energy-efficient and reliable building performance across Maine and New Hampshire.

Responsibilities

• Program, configure, and troubleshoot BAS systems (HVAC, lighting, and energy management).
• Support system installation, integration, and commissioning.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technicians to ensure project success.
• Perform on-site system diagnostics and provide technical support to clients.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and as-built records.

Qualifications

• Proven BAS programming experience (Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, or similar platforms preferred).
• Experience / certification with Tridium Niagara
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, DDC controls, and energy management principles.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and sequences of operations.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
