Job summary

Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee is seeking a skilled Maintenance/BAS and Fire System technician to respond to alarms, diagnose complex control malfunctions, and back up building mechanics. You will calibrate pneumatic and direct digital controls, adjust system schematics, and help ensure safe, energy-efficient operation of critical campus systems.

Required: Associate's degree and at least five years of experience; shifts include 2nd (3:00pm–11:30pm) and 3rd (11:00pm–7:30am).

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety practices, emergency procedures, operations and maintenance, risk management, planning and evaluation.
• Task management, coordination, and problem solving
• Minimum required education: Associate's degree
• Minimum required experience: 5 years

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and take appropriate actions on all Fire and BAS alarms.
• Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions.
• Perform maintenance and calibration of pneumatic and direct digital control devices.
• Make minor software/hardware adjustments to BAS and modify control system schematics.
• Perform routine BAS offline, override, and alarm status reports and adjust trend logs.
• Maintain technical proficiency related to MCW's critical building systems.
• Recommend HVAC and BAS design improvements.
• Ensure energy-saving initiatives are engaged, especially off-hours.
• Back-up Maintenance Mechanics to troubleshoot and repair building HVAC systems.
• Maintain good condition of equipment and tools.
