Job summary

Edison Smart® is seeking an experienced Controls Technician to join our Houston-based team. We install and service building automation systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional clients, with a focus on energy-efficient solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in building automation/controls or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with Niagara Framework (N4/AX); certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, LON, and other open protocols.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control sequences.
• Ability to work independently on-site and manage multiple projects.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, commission, and service BAS/BMS at customer sites.
• Configure and troubleshoot controllers, sensors, and field devices.
• Perform system integration and commissioning using Niagara Framework (N4/AX).
• Diagnose HVAC control issues and network communication problems.
• Read and interpret drawings and control sequences.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to meet performance specs.
• Provide preventive maintenance and emergency service support.
• Document system configurations and service records.
