Job summary

Veterans Prime, Inc. is seeking a Building Automation Controls Technician to complete service calls and maintain positive client relations. You will troubleshoot, tune, and commission BAS equipment and identify system enhancements to improve energy performance.

Ideal applicants have field HVAC controls experience, knowledge of DDC systems, and the ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Field experience in HVAC controls including DDC systems commissioning and calibration.
• Knowledge of Automated Logic commissioning tools and field circuit debugging.
• Understanding of mechanical/electrical drawings and construction context.
• Ability to read/understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Strong communication, organizational and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, WebCTRL, AutoCAD and various OS.
• Proven track record of completing projects and customer satisfaction.
• Experience deploying and commissioning building automation and energy management systems.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency service calls on BMS.
• Troubleshoot installations and correct deficiencies without supervision.
• Communicate with customers to evaluate service needs and scheduling.
• Monitor buildings to ensure optimum performance and tune systems.
• Identify opportunities for enhancements and perform upgrades.
• Perform surveys and assist in estimating additional work.
• Software programming, start-up, tuning and commissioning of BAS.
• Be proficient with equipment like VAVs, Exhaust Fans, AHUs, Chillers, lighting.
• Stay updated on industry energy savings developments.
• Provide feedback to supervisor to improve installation processes.
• Use Dealer websites and stay current on technical data and solutions.
