Our Building Automation Controls Service Specialists conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and general servicing of HVAC / Building Automation Systems, including detailed troubleshooting, in large commercial buildings such as hospitals, universities, and industrial facilities. The overall functions of this service role are based on service maintenance agreements, projects, and emergency on-call (time and material) service. Why is this role so important? Our Service Specialists are the face of Siemens, and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help them save energy and money, as well as create a more sustainable future for our environment.

This position can be either a mid-level Service Specialist (2-5 years experience) or a senior-level Service Specialist (5+ years experience) depending on directly related commercial HVAC controls / building automation controls systems experience.

As a Service Specialist, you will:

• Execute digitalization and standard service operations strategies
• Work with multiple internal service team members including Service Sales, Client Service Managers, Service Coordinators, and RAM Digital Service Center personnel
• Follow safety requirements as outlined by Siemens and customers
• Successfully complete assigned training as outlined in the training path
• Follow mandatory policies, procedures, and standards
• Develop relationships at all levels within the customer’s organization and exhibit strong customer service skills
• Identify customer needs and make prioritized recommendations for service agreement adds, upgrades, and escalations
• May coordinate with contractors on job sites and maintain tools and test equipment
• Respond to service calls (emergency and on-site) as assigned; perform repairs as directed on all automation system types and complete service ticket documentation per the policy
• Follow and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and maintain complete and accurate documentation of services performed and generate reports within Siemens tools
• Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper system operations and assist with training
• Identify and report system discrepancies, suggest system upgrade opportunities, and may assist in pricing of repairs and upgrades to existing agreements
• Perform system checkout and startup on projects, participate in job site final walk and/or final completion for systems-to-service turnover on assigned jobs
• Develop strong working relationships with internal and external customers, identify needs, and resolve issues, and use Siemens' technology and devices
• Work overtime when needed (compressed schedule performance can be a factor and will require extended hours to meet commitments)
• Work rotational on-call and/or minimal overnight travel
• Mentor other Specialists as needed

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Mid-level: 2+ years of experience performing preventive maintenance and diagnostics/troubleshooting of commercial HVAC controls / building automation systems
• Senior-level: 5+ years of experience performing preventive maintenance and diagnostics/troubleshooting of commercial HVAC controls / building automation systems
• Demonstrated on-the-job experience with:
• Open protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and TCP/IP Ethernet and networking
• Engineering concepts, programming, job start-up and checkout, and troubleshooting
• Ability and willingness to work in a variety of circumstances, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high lift equipment, working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in various conditions
• Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet as well as carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
• Ability and willingness to work in our on-call rotation, which could include nights, weekends, and/or holidays
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Must be able and willing to work overtime as needed
• Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in the Siemens fleet vehicle program
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

• The pay range for this position is $64,960 - $111,360 / year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
