Job summary

Open Control Systems (OCS), a part of the Envelop Group family, focuses on delivering custom HVAC building automation solutions. The Building Automation Controls Engineer will design, program, commission, and support BAS/DDC projects at client sites and in the office.

The role requires a mechanical engineering background, 3+ years of hands-on HVAC controls experience, and proficiency with Alerton, Tridium, or Siemens.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with design, commissioning and programming of digital HVAC controls systems.
  • Proficiency with Alerton, Tridium, or Siemens.
  • Knowledge of HVAC controls in new construction and retrofit projects.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Able to work independently in a high-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and program HVAC building automation and control systems.
  • Develop and test software programs to operate the system.
  • Apply field changes to as-built drawings and software.
  • Perform system programming, integration, commissioning and project closeout.
  • Provide commissioning documentation and owner/operator training.
  • Assist with hardware design and software programming per established standards.
  • Collaborate with installation teams to deliver fully functional BAS.
