Job summary

The City of St. Peters is seeking a dependable Building Attendant to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming Rec-Plex. This part-time role focuses on weekend shifts and supporting daily operations for guests and staff.

You will perform custodial duties, inspect facilities, and assist with basic repairs and winter snow removal, ensuring spaces are ready for programs and events. A background check will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Valid Missouri driver's license.
• Fundamental knowledge of janitorial equipment and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Perform general custodial duties, including removing trash, cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, sweeping, mopping, and operating floor-cleaning equipment.
• Maintain recreation areas, restrooms, equipment, and common spaces to ensure they remain clean, safe, and orderly.
• Clean and prepare facility spaces for daily operations, programs, and special events.
• Inspect facilities and equipment for maintenance needs or safety concerns and report issues to the appropriate staff.
• Perform basic repairs using hand tools as needed.
• Safely handle cleaning chemicals and operate custodial equipment.
• Assist with snow removal and applying salt to walkways during winter weather as needed.
• Provide courteous customer service and help maintain a positive environment for guests and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
