Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set-up and tear down for events including chairs, tables, and drapery.
• Complete cleaning checklists and room sets accurately and on time.
• Handle folding and stacking chairs, tables of various sizes.
• Safely use cleaning supplies, mops, brooms, and related equipment.
• Operate equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and snow removal gear.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients.

Position Summary

The Building Attendant is an event-based position that works specifically in the areas of housekeeping, grounds maintenance, room sets, and arena and theater conversions at the Five Flags Center. This role pays an hourly rate of $15.00

About The Venue

The Five Flags Civic Center is located in downtown Dubuque. The arena has a capacity of 4,500 guests and has the ability to transform for an occasion from concerts and sports tournaments to banquets and general sessions. The theater is a National Historic Landmark that seats 711 guests, and the Bijou Room is a black box theater with a capacity of 135 guests.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and tear down including risers, chairs, tables, pipe and drape, and other items as needed for events at facility
• Execute accurate and timely completion of cleaning checklists and room sets
• Handle folding chairs, stacking chairs, tables of various shapes and sizes, drapery and skirting
• Responsible for safe use of various supplies, including variety of cleaning chemicals, mops, brooms, shovels and scrapers
• Operate an assortment of equipment including buffers/burnishers, rider sweepers/scrubbers, walk-behind scrubbers, blowers, vacuums, snow removal equipment and others as needed
• Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
• Must have a demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Experience in a public facility highly preferred
• Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely
• Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of team
• Must have the ability to work flexible schedule, including long hours, nights, weekends and holidays
