Job summary

City of Gainesville is seeking a Community Builder to support events and maintain City facilities and equipment. You will work under supervision to set up and monitor city events while ensuring safety and compliance.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and one year in janitorial work with public contact; a Florida driver's license is required. The role may involve evenings, weekends, and holidays and requires wearing the provided uniform.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general janitorial and attendant work at assigned building facilities and grounds, including set-up and clean-up after events and activities.
  • Moves and lifts heavy equipment, tables, chairs, and other objects to prepare for and clean up after events and programs.
  • Locks and unlocks facilities and notifies appropriate authorities in event of emergency.
  • Monitors events and programs and assists as needed.
  • Enforces strict applicable rules and regulations by informing general public participants.
  • Attends work on continuous and regular basis.
