  • Follow job requirements, and direction from building supervisors.
  • Use proper cleaning materials, correctly operate janitorial equipment and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned by the building supervisors.

Job Details

University Unions proudly offers a comprehensive range of services across multiple buildings on campus, including meeting and performance venues, administrative offices, dining operations, and recreational facilities such as our bowling alley and Esports spaces. The Building Attendant II supports the daily operation, cleanliness, and readiness of University Unions facilities by performing a variety of custodial and facility support duties. This position is responsible for general cleaning, floor care, restroom maintenance, room set‑ups and break‑downs, and maintaining interior and exterior spaces while properly using custodial equipment, materials, and established procedures.

Work Shift

Monday, 7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and Tuesday, from 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; 19 hours per week. This is a part‑time position. The scheduled end time may vary depending on operational needs and workload. The employee may need to stay beyond their scheduled hours when necessary. Any schedule adjustments will be communicated as needed. This position’s work schedule does not follow the University’s calendar for building closure.

Required Qualifications

Experience in any of the following fields: custodial, environmental services, hospitality, warehouse, production, or facilities maintenance. Experience following basic work instructions.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Six months or more experience in any of the above listed fields. Demonstrated ability to communicate with supervisors and peer group in a timely and effective manner. Experience using industrial‑sized custodial equipment. Ability to read and understand work orders, written instructions, product labels and instructions, and other written job materials. Demonstrated ability and willingness to be an effective team member.

Salary Range

$17.41 Per Hour

Final Candidate Requirements

Final candidate will be required to pass a background check prior to starting employment. The candidate must also pass a functional employment test. The purpose of the test is to determine whether the individual possesses the ability to perform the required job functions safely and effectively.
