BHSI has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Underwriter to join our Builder’s Risk team focused on underwriting property construction business in the United States. The candidate would ideally be based alongside our existing team located in Boston, MA; New York City, NY; Atlanta, GA; Houston, TX; or Plymouth Meeting, PA.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, solid analytical abilities, and the confidence to work both independently and collaboratively across all levels and disciplines.
This role partners across the organization to originate, evaluate and execute new business opportunities, with ownership of underwriting decisions and portfolio performance. It is a highly market‑facing role demanding strong character, credibility, and advanced relationship‑building and negotiation skills. The role carries a high degree of accountability, supported by rigorous data management. The successful candidate will consistently deliver exceptional customer experience while upholding BHSI’s underwriting discipline. They will bring a strong technical and inquisitive mindset, along with a genuine commitment to long‑term success at BHSI.
The base salary for this position ranges from $165,000 to $225,000 along with annual bonus eligibility in addition; the salary is determined by the candidate’s relevant skills and experience.
