Job summary

SpaceX in the United States is seeking a Build Reliability Engineer (Starship) to join a cross-disciplinary team developing manufacturing procedures and maximizing quality across production.

You will design tooling, define inspection requirements, write training, and drive continuous improvement while collaborating closely with design, quality, and production teams to ensure robust build processes and excellent reliability on flight hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field and 1+ years of manufacturing/design experience.
• Experience with build, integration, or avionics components.
• Familiarity with tooling design and manufacturability principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing, integration, assembly, welding, NDE, cleanliness, and checkouts processes from the ground up.
• Design and implement tooling for work access, testing, fixturing, and lifting.
• Define and document inspection requirements and procedures.
• Create training for production and inspection processes.
• Author planning, test plans, and training to enable data collection and quality.
• Contain non-conforming hardware with cross-functional collaboration.
• Work with design teams to improve DFM and requirements fulfillment.
• Drive corrective actions and improve manufacturing processes.
