Job summary

ITbility is seeking a Release Engineering Lead for a global consumer technology platform in Cupertino. You will own the release process across multiple teams, coordinating builds and deployments and making go/no-go decisions.

In this hands-on coordination role, you’ll lead incident triage, define promotion criteria with SREs, and report release health metrics to leadership, while guiding Canary/blue-green strategies and ensuring smooth, reliable product deliveries.

Qualifications

• Require release engineering experience in multi-team environments.
• Experience leading incident calls and making decisions under pressure.
• Hands-on with CI/CD tools (Jenkins), Git, Python, Bash, Linux.

Release Engineering Lead (DevOps) | Cupertino, CA | Onsite Contract

ITbility is hiring a Build and Release Lead for a large engineering platform at a global consumer technology company in Cupertino.

This is a coordination and judgment role. You will own the release, not write the code going into it.

What you'll do

• Own build promotion and deployment coordination across multiple engineering teams
• Resolve conflicts when teams need different versions or configs at the same time
• Lead incident triage and make the final call on fix forward or rollback
• Define promotion criteria with SRE teams and report release health metrics to leadership

What we're looking for

• Proven release engineering or release management experience in a multi team environment
• Track record of leading incident calls and making decisions under pressure
• Hands-on with Jenkins or similar CI/CD, Git, Python, Bash and Linux
• Canary or blue green deployments, Docker, Kubernetes, Splunk or Grafana are a plus
• Large product company background strongly preferred
