About the Program

Does the thought of a cubicle job make you cringe? Not afraid to get your hands dirty? Are you good with people? If you just said yes to all of the above, you might be our next Build‑A‑Plumber Install candidate! Classes start March 30!

What is Build‑A‑Plumber? It’s a fun name for a fun plumbing program! Basically, you’ll be training to become a plumbing installer for Morris‑Jenkins. You don’t need any plumbing experience, and we’ll even pay you during training (starting at $18 /hr through training).

Your Role

• Observe and assist in plumbing installations, which include water, sewer, and gas lines, water heaters, tankless water heaters, and water filtration systems
• Provide excellent customer service while properly addressing customer issues and ensuring effective, long‑term problem resolution

Physical Demands

• Must be able to deadlift 90 pounds to a height of three feet or greater. This includes lifting and/or carrying materials such as toilets, drain cabling machines, etc.
• Must be able to hold and extend proper drain machines weighing at least 25 pounds for an extended time when applicable.

Mental Demands

Must be able to perceive and distinguish emotions, handle adversarial confrontations, concentrate and prioritize multiple tasks, and pay conscious attention to detail.

Work Environment

Frequently requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions and hazards such as electrical shock, sharp objects, poisonous animals, etc. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
