Job summary

Buick GMC seeks a Regional Sales Operations Manager to drive strategic and operational execution across a broad dealer footprint. You will bridge HQ objectives with field performance, using data-driven insights to improve retail outcomes and efficiency.

The role requires strong analytical skills, deep OEM product knowledge, and the ability to influence stakeholders across functions. This is a hybrid, leadership position with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant experience
  • 8+ years of sales or sales operations experience
  • Strong automotive industry knowledge and business acumen (sales, aftersales, service operations, CX)
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, including data analysis, reporting, and visualization tools
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to different locations within your territory
  • Must possess and maintain the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle per state licensing requirements

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Regional Director and Zone Managers to develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with GM objectives
  • Drive operational excellence by monitoring sales performance metrics and implementing improvements
  • Serve as liaison between regional field teams, corporate sales operations, marketing and dealer network development
  • Translate national sales programs into actionable field-level initiatives
  • Lead strategy and coordinate with GM affiliates and local advertising groups
  • Analyze sales trends, inventory, incentives, and dealer profitability to provide insights
  • Use data tools to forecast sales performance, KPI measurement, and optimize vehicle mix and inventory
  • Support planning and allocation processes to align with market demand
  • Support dealer incentive programs, sales contests and retail execution initiatives
  • Coach field teams in the use of sales tools, data reporting, and best practices
  • Collaborate with Marketing, CX, and Finance to synchronize regional strategies and budgets
  • Provide feedback to corporate on market dynamics and program performance
  • Lead special projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure quality dealer interactions and escalations are managed effectively
  • Align team execution with enterprise priorities through data-driven planning

The Role

The Regional Sales Operations Manager plays a critical leadership role in driving the strategic and operational execution of General Motors’ regional sales performance. This role serves as the bridge between corporate objectives and field execution, ensuring retail and dealer network goals are achieved through data-driven insights, process optimization, and cross-functional alignment.

Acting as the strategic link between headquarters, product teams, and field operations, this leader drives consistency, clarity, and disciplined execution across a broad dealer footprint. Success requires strong analytical acumen, deep OEM product knowledge, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders to improve retail outcomes and operational effectiveness.

What You’ll Do
  • Partner with the Regional Director and Zone Managers to develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with GM’s corporate and brand objectives.
  • Drive operational excellence by monitoring sales performance metrics, identifying performance gaps and implementing targeted improvement plans.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between regional field teams, corporate sales operations, marketing and dealer network development.
  • Translate national sales programs into actionable field-level initiatives.
  • Lead LMA strategy and work with Martin Retail Group. Coordinate strategy with Detroit and local advertising groups.
  • Analyze sales trends, inventory levels, incentive effectiveness, and dealer profitability to provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Utilize data tools and dashboards to forecast sales performance, measure dealer KPIs, and optimize retail and fleet volume objectives.
  • Support planning and allocation processes, ensuring optimal vehicle mix and inventory alignment with market demand.
  • Support dealer incentive programs, sales, contests and retail execution initiatives to drive volume and share growth.
  • Partner with Zone Managers to coach and develop field teams in the use of sales tools, data reporting, and operational best practices.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Customer Experience, and Finance teams to synchronize regional strategies and budget priorities.
  • Provide feedback to corporate teams on market dynamics, dealer sentiment, and program performance.
  • Lead and participate in special projects, pilot programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive operational excellence in dealer contact and sales support activities by monitoring performance metrics, managing workload and priorities, resolving escalations, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience for dealers and internal stakeholders.
  • Align team execution with sales and network strategies by partnering with Sales, Field, and cross-functional stakeholders, translating enterprise priorities into actionable plans, and continuously improving processes based on data, dealer feedback, and frontline insights.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 8+ years of sales or sales operations experience
  • Strong automotive industry knowledge and business acumen, which may include sales, aftersales, service operations and customer experience management.
  • Proficiency in Google Workplace, including data analysis, reporting, and visualization tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to different locations within your territory
  • Must possess and maintain the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle in accordance with the licensing requirements of the states in which work is performed

  • Proven track record of leadership ad collaboration in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.
  • High proficiency with OEM sales systems, Power BI, Excel and CRM platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight timelines.
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven, customer-first mindset.
  • Collaborative leader who inspires accountability and performance excellence.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving change through influence.
