Job summary

Scholar Hotels is seeking a part-time Buffet Attendant to deliver friendly, efficient service in the Bistro. You will handle food/beverage service, maintain a clean, stocked buffet and dining area, and assist in greeting and seating guests. The role requires maintaining standards and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

The position emphasizes guest service, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks during busy shifts, with part-time hours and varied shifts available.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, efficient service of food and beverages to guests.
  • Assist in setting out and maintaining Breakfast Buffet.
  • Expedite food from kitchen and ensure timely service.
  • Bus and pre-bus guest tables and maintain dining areas.
  • Keep restaurant stocked and stations organized for each meal period.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming and comply with SOPs.

SUMMARY

The Buffet Attendant/Food Runner/Busser must provide friendly, efficient service of food and beverages desired by guests, and collect payment for such items. Ensure that the Bistro is clean and stocked at all times

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Service
  • Maintains guest service as the driving philosophy of the operation
  • Personally demonstrates a commitment to guest service in responding promptly to guests' needs
  • Committed to making every guest is satisfied
  • Meets or exceeds guest satisfaction measures
  • Ensures hotel standards and services contribute to the delivery of consistent guest service
  • Implements and practices guest service initiatives and performs to Hotel Standards
Server Assistant Operations
  • Complete all side-work and cleaning duties as described in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Help in setting out Breakfast Buffet in a timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and replenishment of food items for breakfast buffet.
  • Assist in expediting food from kitchen
  • Provide attentive service, focusing on guests’ needs.
  • Ensure restaurant is stocked and server stations items are properly restocked for each meal period
  • Bus and Pre-bus guest tables; removing all dirty dished and placing them properly in dish room
  • Floors are to be swept and mopped after every meal, and always kept free of debris.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with the standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working.
  • Comply at all times with regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Assist in greeting and seating guests in dining area
  • Rolling silverware for restaurantwhen required
  • Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
