We are looking for a knowledgeable and customer-focused Budtender to join our team at our Rochester, NY dispensary. As a Budtender, you will play a vital role in educating our customers about our diverse range of cannabis products, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and contributing to a welcoming and organized store environment.

Successful candidates will have a passion for music, art, design, culture, and of course… cannabis. Confidence, dedication and integrity are key when considering applicants. Basic cannabis product knowledge is preferred, but a willingness to learn is essential. Excellent conversational skills and previous customer service is ideal but not required.

Responsibilities

• Product Knowledge: Understand and educate customers on various cannabis products, including strains, types (flower, edibles, concentrates, etc.), and usage methods.
• Sales and Customer Service: Assist customers in selecting products that meet their needs, provide recommendations, and handle cash transactions.
• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, restock shelves, and ensure product freshness and compliance with state regulations.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all local and state cannabis laws and regulations, including age verification for sales.
• Store Maintenance: Keep the sales area clean and organized, including the checkout area and product displays.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members, including management and other budtenders, to ensure a smooth operation.

Qualifications

• Certification: Must possess or have begun a valid state-issued cannabis sales certification (e.g., New York State Cannabis Dispensary Worker Certification).
• Age Verification Training: Completion of required age verification training to ensure compliance with legal age restrictions.
• Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to manage inventory accurately and maintain compliance with state regulations.
• Previous Experience: Prior experience in retail, customer service, or the cannabis industry is a plus.
• Product Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of various cannabis products and their uses.
• Sales Experience: Prior retail sales or customer service experience.

• Hours: Full-time, approximately 30-40 hours per week.
• Shifts: Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed to meet customer demand.
• Stand/Walk: Prolonged standing and walking during shifts.

• Average Salary: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
